jenny jenkins
(olympia, wa)
Jenny Jenkins has a keen wit and an infectious laughter that can turn a room full of hipsters into giggling schoolchildren, and a room full of schoolchildren into little particles of joy. Her previous projects include, Super Duo , Encyclopedia of Fun, and "Love is Stupid" a musical staring Mirah in olympia circa 1999 that has to be seen to be believed. If this makes jenny sound like a super hero, well, perhaps that is because she is.
june madrona
(olympia, wa)
Songs written simply and honestly, performed acoustically. Based upon the guitar and words of Ross Cowman, the varied content and carefully constructed stories of the songs may make you want to
dance, cry, sing, think, or just listen as deeply as one can.
polka dot dot dot
(olympia/ seattle/ whidby island, wa)
A super group comprised of Jordan'O Jordan, Onyx of Olympia, and Miss Spindleheart. Formed during a tour of New Zeland, their onstage chemisrty and rich harmonies won over audiences everywhere they went.
Now back in the states Polka Dot Dot Dot, the only question that remains is are there 3 polka dots, or does the polka go on forever? You decide.
the nextdoor neighbors
(seattle, wa)
Jessie Hill supplies the words and melodies, framed by the electronic alchemy of Kathy Cote. Whether you call it folktronic or electro-folk-hop, the psychic link between these two neighbors is clearly heard in this organically-grown bedroom pop.
the winning lasses
(olympia, wa)
In the cut throat indie world of whisper-core one minute you are in and the next you are out. This is a universal truth with but one glowing exception...the Winning Lasses. Kristyn, Jason and their musical collective have designed a sound that is sweet but never saccharine.
This is a fair warning lieblings, that even if you are fluent in German, you may simply find it impossible to say "auf wiedersehen" to the daydreamy sound of the Winning Lasses.
bob schwenkler
(olympia, wa)
Songs written with a sense of spaciousness and attention to the small details of life.
"Of all the chords I've ever played, there are a few that I always end up using again and again. I like them more than all the others. I like the way they sound, and I like how it feels to fret them. At times they feel almost comforting.
If anyone ever wanted to trade favorite chords sometime, I would do it.
If you want me to play in your living room, let me know, because I will probably also do that. "- Bob
